Service Description: Self-help centre open for drop in clients offering services to assist individuals to settle into new lives in Canada
Family in Settlement Together - https://ccsfamily.ca/
  • holistic settlement support to families as a unit including families with children with special needs
  • specialized needs assessment; one-on-one support; group activities
  • parenting skills building workshops
  • weekly English Conversation Circle
  • caregiver self-care sessions
  • creative classes for children and youth
  • volunteer opportunities
  • partnership with East Scarborough Boys and Girls Club
Settlement Services
  • needs assessment, information and referral, supportive counselling
  • information on employment, citizenship and immigration, education and housing, financial literacy
  • support to file forms
  • group sessions including English and French conversation groups, citizenship preparation sessions, computer training
  • walk-in services, free access to computers and Internet
Community Service Program for socially isolated women at high risk of domestic violence and mental health challenges
  • activities to build social networks and break isolation
  • short term skills training for employment such as customer service, sewing, food handling and how to become a self-employed artist
  • workshops series such as chronic pain management, how to manage diabetes, nutrition (healthy eating) programs
Services at Other Locations
Itinerant Settlement Counselling Services - delivered in collaboration with partner agencies such as ACCES Employment, Dr. Roz's Healing Place, East Scarborough Storefront, Springboard Employment, and YWCA to better support newcomer clients at those locations
Library Settlement Program offered on an itinerant basis at Cedarbrae Library, Woodside Library, Albert Campbell Library, Goldhawk Park Library, and Burrows Hall Library. Additionally, services are available Monday to Saturday at Agincourt Library
