The Government of Canada says that "wearing a homemade facial covering/non-medical mask in the community has not been proven to protect the person wearing it and is not a substitute for physical distancing and hand washing. However, it can be an additional measure taken to protect others around you, even if you have no symptoms."

Hand Sanitizer
Limited quantities of hand sanitizer are available for purchase in the community and may be difficult to find. Check with local pharmacies and other stores for their availability. Some manufacturers such as distilleries have repurposed production to make hand sanitizer for health care organizations and possibly for the public as well.
