Service Description: 92-bed long-term care home * residential care for private rooms, semi-private rooms, and basic rooms * 24-hour nursing and personal care * access to a doctor and other health professionals

LEVEL OF CARE:

Light: minimal assistance or supervision with activities of daily living and availability of 24 hour staff for safety and security

Medium: assistance with all activities of daily living with possible exception of skin care or, if cognitively impaired, individuals may require less assistance but supervision and frequent directions

Heavy: total assistance with all activities of daily living

SPECIAL UNITS: All units secured

BATHROOM TYPES: Shared in basic or semi-private: private room has own bathroom

SHORT STAY BED TYPE: No

TOUR FREQUENCY: if tour required an appointment can be made with Laurie Paquette -resident Services Coordinator

STRUCTURE TYPE: One storey

FACILITY SECURITY TYPE: Security inside and outside of this building. Inside, the exits doors are locked with security codes and outside there is an enclosed secure garden and gazebo.

RESIDENT CARE SERVICES:

Assistance with activities of daily living, tracheostomy care, tube feeding, suctioning (deep,oral), inhalation therapy, oxygen concentrator, catheter care (intermittent, indwelling, suprapubic), dialysis, drain removal, suture removal, dressings (aseptic, sterile), IV antibiotics, CADD pump, artficial hyrdration (Hypodermoclysis).

FACILITY INFIRMARY: one bed available * bathroom ensuite

FACILITY LIFESTYLE - PERMISSIONS: alcohol permitted with a written doctor's order. Smoking is permitted outside at rear of building as per Health Unit Regulations

FURNITURE POLICY: Residents are encouraged to bring their own personal furniture, depending on the available space in the room

MEAL PLAN / SERVICE TYPES: Two central dining rooms. Family dining is available. Meal tray service is available if the resident is not able to go to the dining room due to ill health. Special diets are available as per Physician. Restorative dining room available

PHYSICIAN VISIT FREQUENCY: weekly

RESTRAINT METHOD: Lap belt and side rails on beds as applicable and with (POA) family consent and a Physicians order

Increased hours to attain "zero restraint" utilization. Side rails (if used for mobility) assist transfers not restraint. Use Posy Alarms, to reduce lap belt utilization
