Service Description:
|
DAFRS works in partnership with
families with a member who has an intellectual disability or a child with a
physical disability * provides short term family respite.
- Facilitators work with families in planning and bringing about lifestyle and support that best suit the individual and family.
- The family support team hosts variety of workshops.
- Provides education to raise public awareness of the needs and capabilities of people with developmental disabilities
- Provides programs to support family leadership through networking and development of family groups
- Adults wanting long-term, ongoing facilitation support must apply through Developmental Services Ontario (DSO).
Services provided through telephone and email.
