Service Description: DAFRS works in partnership with families with a member who has an intellectual disability or a child with a physical disability * provides short term family respite.
  • Facilitators work with families in planning and bringing about lifestyle and support that best suit the individual and family.
  • The family support team hosts variety of workshops.
  • Provides education to raise public awareness of the needs and capabilities of people with developmental disabilities
  • Provides programs to support family leadership through networking and development of family groups 
  • Adults wanting long-term, ongoing facilitation support must apply through Developmental Services Ontario (DSO). 
Services provided through telephone and email.

Fees: There are no fee-for-services available.
Application: Adults - vacancies assigned by Developmental Services Ontario. Children - no wait list.
Eligibility / Target Population: Adults with a developmental disability, children with a physical or developmental disability. Adults must apply through Developmental Services Ontario
