Service Description: The Canadian Cancer Society is a national community based organization of volunteers striving to eradicate cancer and the enhance the quality of life for people living with cancer.

FUND RESEARCH-Fundraising dollars are provided by Ontarians through the April residential campaign and memoriam donations. Other special events include Relay for Life, Cops for Cancer and sales through daffodils.

INFORMATION RESOURCE-Information Resource provides reliable information about cancers, treatments, early detection and risk reduction.

PEER SUPPORT GROUP-Emotional support groups that help individuals adjust and cope with a cancer diagnosis. Practical support is available at clinics and lodges through our volunteer programs.

TRANSPORTATION-A volunteer driver service is available to eligible clients. A driver is provided as well as an escort (if required) free of charge to and from a client's place of residence to a specific medical appointment or treatment. Transportation assistance is also available to an eligible client with a declared financial need when a volunteer driver is not available or when the use of volunteer resources is inappropriate
