Service Description: Provides professional paramedic services to the residents of the Region of Durham and surrounding area * The team is comprised of a combination of primary care and advanced care paramedics * Paramedic team members perform both non-emergency medical care and transportation and some non-emergency transportation in Durham Region * deploys 31 ambulances, two rapid response vehicles and three emergency response and command units to respond to requests for service throughout the community.
  • works with other healthcare and allied service agencies
  • promotes and delivers continued quality improvement and medical education
  • promotes community involvement in CPR and first aid training
  • promotes injury and accident prevention

Fees: Ambulance services must be booked for non-emergency transporation through the Ambulance Communication Centre at 905-430-5534.
Waiting Period - Non-emergency services may have a wait depending on demands of the emergency ambulance service.

Eligibility / Target Population: Must be in need of medical care or medical transportation.
