Service Description:
|
In-person wellness day program offering respite for caregivers for up to 3 hours by staff and hospice volunteers * supportive care service designed for those living with a life limiting illness * participants engage in a variety of activities in a group setting for part of the day * promotes wellness and enhanced quality of life * helps to support family caregivers who provide day-to-day care (short-term break)

- expressive arts therapy
- wellness therapies such as Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, and gentle hand and foot Aroma Touch

Eligibility / Target Population:

Older adults and adults with disabilities, who need physical, social, or emotional supports * Ontario Health atHome Care Coordinators assess the needs of applicants People living with a life-limiting illness, have given consent, can manage their own personal care and administer their own medication and agrees to ongoing assessment to determine eligibility to the program
