Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland and Haliburton

The Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberloand and Haliburton (ASPKLNH) is looking for individuals interested in applying for the position of Director on their Board of Directors.
As a Governance Board, the Director will focus on the Vision and Mission of ASPKLNH with a primary activity being the establishment of goals for the organization, and the monitoring of the progress toward their accomplishments. The Board makes all the decisions with respect to governance, overall policy, service direction and budget.

Position:  Board of Directors - Director

Region:  Northumberland, Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, Haliburton

ASPKLNH Board members represent a variety of professional disciplines including health and/or health information, law, government relations, finance, and/or fund raising. Volunteers contribute approximately 10 hours per month, including in-house committee work, and attending monthly meetings ten times per year in Peterborough. Term of office is for three (3) consecutive years.
Applicants must be a principle resident of and/or have his/her primary place of business or employment in Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland or Haliburton. 


  • Able to work independently and as part of a high functioning team 
  • Possess superior leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of community resources 
  • Familiar with Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised 
  • It is beneficial if applicant is a recognized individual knowledgeable about the field of one or more of the following: health and/or health information, law, government relations, finance, and/or fund raising

Salary:  Volunteer position

Terms of Employment:  8 to 10 hours monthly committment for 3 year term
